I am a Kansas City-based photographer with a focus on telling visual stories that raises awareness and drives impact in my community. I am experienced in covering civil unrest, protests, agriculture, animal welfare, sports, and environmental issues, with the ability to work calmly under pressure, quickly build trust with my subjects, and deliver compelling images, video, and text on deadline. I have a passion for astrophotography and pet portraiture, applying the same technical discipline and creative vision whether I am shooting under the stars or in the studio. I am committed to ethical, accurate, and human-centered journalism and approach each story and subject with dignity and without judgment. I am also an FAA licensed drone pilot with over 150 hours of logged flight time. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, cat rescue and fostering, snowboarding, and live music.

About me

Actor Anthony Hopkins said it best when he began a new career as a classical composer at the age of 88: “It’s never too late.” I was ignorant of photojournalism and visual storytelling when I first picked up a camera at age 32, but it has proven to be one of the best decisions of my life.
